Requirements
Gone are the days of large, costly and unsightly wireless internet towers. Consumers are dissatisfied with expensive and restrictive cellular internet plans. No matter where you live, farm, vacation or work, Galaxy Broadband satellite internet service delivers affordable high-speed web access anywhere, all the time.
There are three basic elements required to receive High-speed satellite internet in your area:
Hardware Components
One of the questions we get asked is, "Do I need a tower in my yard?" Absolutely not! The only equipment required to receive true, bi-directional high-speed internet, is a .74 metre (2.5 feet) dish and a modem. The dish, mount, and outdoor hardware are commercial grade; rugged and are proven over many years to withstand the rigors of winter. High quality components result in a HughesNet hardware failure rate of less than 2 percent!
All HughesNet hardware is covered by a no hassle 2 year warranty.
Certified Installation
Another questions we always get is, "Am I going to need to install this dish myself?" Luckily, we've already got that covered! All you need to do is order your HUGHESNET® System over the phone or in our store... and we'll take care of the rest. Our certified Installers have been professionally trained to follow Hughes and Industry Canada guidelines (which requires professional certified installation of the transmitting satellite dish), and to give you a hassle-free installation!
THE INSTALLATION PROCESS
Here's what happens...
- You place an order for HUGHESNET high-speed Internet by satellite.
- A professional Installer calls your house to schedule a convenient appointment and payment arrangements.
- The Installer arrives at your house at the agreed-upon time and installs the dish and modem.
- The installer then helps you activate your account, and you start enjoying HUGHESNET! (again the installer will show up and install the system and when he leaves you will be surfing….no customer interaction)
All installations are covered by our no hassle 90 day warranty.

* Service plans subject to an annual Industry Canada License ($75.00) and a one-time System Access Fee of $49.95.
1. Network Addressing Translation (NAT) or public IP addressing may be used. NAT enables assignment of private IPs (up to 253) to devices, keeping them private from users outside the network. Should additional public IP addresses be desired, up to 5 useable static IP addresses are available for an additional package of 5 for $49.99.
2. Download and Upload threshold is volume of data that can be transferred continuously before the Fair Access Policy may restrict the transfer speed. Several variables affect this number including: speed of transfer, duration of transfer, and the recovery period.
3. Upload and Download speeds are not guaranteed. Speeds listed are maximum speeds available under the applicable Service Plan. Actual speeds may be less than those listed above depending on Internet conditions, traffic volume, extreme weather, as well as other factors.
